Where to eat in Monchique?
Luar da Fóia
Monchique’s specialty is produce and dishes made from black pig (porco preto). A very cool restaurant with an amazing view where you can try local specialties is Luar da Fóia.

If you want to sit right by the window, it’s a good idea to book a table in advance. We were without reservations and managed to get the last table inside but we were generally informed that it is generally full and better to make a reservation.
The menu is mostly meat, with typical local cuisine. There is one very good vegetarian dish. Prices for the main course range from 13 – 23 euros. Full menu on the restaurant’s website here >>.
