Sagres<\/span> is a small town in the southwestern Algarve, located on the Cape St. Vincent <\/span>. The city of Sagres is part of the municipality of Vila do Bispo<\/span>. The entire municipality has a population of about 5,600, of which about 2,000 live in Sagres itself. Sagres is famous for its impressive high cliffs<\/span> overlooking the Atlantic Ocean<\/span>. Due to its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, Sagres can sometimes be quite windy and generally cooler than other parts of the Algarve. When visiting Sagres, don’t forget to bring warm clothes with you. <\/p>

Sagres is also known for its seafaring.<\/span> An important figure in the history of Sagres is Henry the Sailor,<\/span> who in the 15th century<\/span> ushered in an era of sea expeditions that resulted in great geographical discoveries. How to get to Sagres?<\/h2>

The best way to get to Sagres is by car<\/strong>. There is no train station in the town. It is also possible to get to Sagres by bus <\/strong>although most of the attractions are far from the town and you have to drive there. <\/p>

This is the largest beach in the Sagres area. It is also the closest beach to the town, making it quite popular during the summer months. <\/p>

It is a relatively large beach in the area, but slightly smaller than Praia da Mareta. The beach is quite windy and popular with windsurfers<\/strong>. The beach overlooks several islets that can be explored by boat. <\/p>

Tonel beach<\/strong><\/h3>

This beach is quite popular with experienced surfers.<\/strong> The waves here can be quite violent and high. It is not a good option for those starting out in surfing. <\/p>

This beautiful beach is the most common choice of surfers. This pristine beach is surrounded by high cliffs, forming a small bay. The beach is accessible by a long staircase. <\/p>

This beach is located near the port of Baleeira<\/strong> in Sagres. The beach overlooks the bay of Sagres. You can find small rocks on the beach and enjoy the view of boats coming in and out of the harbor. <\/p>
